From Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity: "Crafting A Home & Hope In Partnership With A Local Family"

What We Are Doing: This summer, eight local craft breweries — Black Bottle Brewery, C.B. & Potts Restaurant & Brewery, Coopersmith’s Pub & Brewing, Equinox Brewing, Fort Collins Brewery, Odell Brewing, New Belgium Brewing, and Pateros Creek Brewing have come together to sponsor and build a Habitat for Humanity home in Fort Collins, the House That Beer Built (HTBB). They have come together to celebrate their collaborative brewing environment and shared community commitment and need your help in raising money to raise the walls on a new home!

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to build a home for the Andrasik Family, the HTBB Partner Family, who lost their home last summer in the High Park Fire. We will be rebuilding on the same land in Rist Canyon, helping to rebuild the future of this family. The Andrasik Family is excited for this opportunity and to meet you, their neighbors, as you rebuild beside them. The Andrasik Family is not given their new home.

Every Habitat partner family pays back a zero-interest mortgage and puts in 300-500 hours of sweat equity on their home before moving in. Habitat sets your neighbors up for successful futures by providing affordable housing to hard-working, local families and individuals. We encourage you to craft a home and hope alongside your favorite breweries!

The breweries will break ground on their House That Beer Built home in August 2013, in partnership with a local family and finish so the family will be home for the holidays. Every dollar given through the Community Funded initiative will be used for “bricks and sticks” for the construction of the home. Each brewery will contribute sales from designated House That Beer Built kegs starting in August and have offered individualized brewery-based rewards to help fund this home.

Go All In!

Here are 4 ways you can support the House That Beer Built:

  • Donate: Grab a limited edition House That Beer Built reward, created exclusively for this project! Check out our rewards page for predetermined giving levels that represent your impact on the home.
  • Offer: Offer in-kind goods or skilled services from your own business as a reward!
  • Share: Display your local pride on social media outlets to show your commitment. Challenge your friends to craft a home and hope just as the breweries have challenged one another.
  • Volunteer: We are currently accepting volunteers and will be accepting new volunteers on the House That Beer Built. Visit our website: www.FortCollinsHabitat.org and follow the white Volunteer Up button to register today! More information on when building will take place will be uploaded as we grow closer to breaking ground!

Funds raised that exceed our goal of $100,000 will be used for additional costs to build this home including permits, fees, construction management and administration of the House That Beer Built.

Thank you for coming alongside us as we craft a home and hope.

Who We Are:

Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Our mission is to build safe, decent, and affordable homes in partnership with hard-working families in need. This grassroots effort is made possible through the generous donations of materials, money and labor from members of the greater Fort Collins community. Habitat provides a 0% interest loan where Habitat homeowners make a monthly mortgage payment that does not exceed 30% of their income, making the home affordable. Habitat homeowners also save a down payment and contribute up to 500 hours of “sweat equity” in the building of their home and at the ReStore. Through our affordable homeownership process, families are given a hand-up, not a hand-out, as they transition to a stable environment for generations to come.
